Intermediate  Team info

Hello Team!

Welcome to season 9! We are so excited for another year of dance with you all. We have been hard at work planning the season ahead and have some details for you. This is just a preliminary email and then in the next week you will receive a larger email with the team contract, the year at a glance and the finer details regarding the upcoming season. Below you will find some news/updates, 2025-2026 team assignments and the schedule, deposit due dates and a few important dates. As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask but please be patient when waiting for a reply.

NEW TEAM MEMBERS:

First of all, we want to say a warm welcome to the new dancers, families and teachers joining our team. We continue to grow and are so excited to announce our competitive team now has 60 dancers! That is crazy! Season 9 is going to be bigger and better than ever. The 60 dancers will be divided into 6 teams but we will make sure everyone gets to know each other and have some bonding opportunities.

And a big welcome to Helen who will be joining our team of instructors! We are so excited to have her teaching and bringing some new classes to Active Arts!

NEW DANCE SPACE:

With more dancers, teachers and just the overall growth of our studio we are excited to announce we will be renovating the Wasaga location. Come Fall 2025 there will be 3 dance floors! This third dance floor will be a sort of mini studio perfect for little dancers, smaller classes and private lessons. Many of the competitive team classes will be in the larger studios but this is another big step for the studio and who doesn’t love more dance floor space?

This deposit and any outstanding bills must be paid before we will consider your dancer officially registered.

RECITAL DATES:

We are just in the final stages of confirming our recitals dates.  These will be sent out in the next email. We appreciate your patience.

COMPETITION DATES:

All of our competitions are now confirmed. Please be sure to make note of these dates immediately. A reminder that you do not compete all 4 days. You could compete just one of these days or two, sometimes 3 but it is rare that you are there all 4 days. We will receive the final schedules about a month in advance.

April 9th-12th: Bedazzled Dance Competition @ BLUE MOUNTAIN

April 30th- May 3rd: On The Floor @ KITCHENER

May 21st-24th: View Dance Challenge @ BARRIE

4th COMPETITION:

There has been interest in a attending a 4th competition or a nationals event. We have looked into nationals and with our studios schedule and layout it does not fit into our season. However, we have looked in a 4th competition that select groups and small groups will attend. This is NOT confirmed and only a possibility, it is something we will discuss a bit further into the season.

GROUP PRODUCTION:

This season we will NOT be doing a production number. With many changes happening to the studio we will be focusing our creative efforts on the individual teams and small groups/solos. We love all the love for this past seasons production number. It was an unforgettable piece that we will cherish for a long time and we will bring back production in the future!

ADDITIONAL CLASSES:
We will be offering other classes that competitive dancers can take. These are classes beyond the mandatory classes for each team that your dancers can choose to add into their schedule. Such as ballet exam classes, pre-pointe and pointe and acro tech classes. The schedule for these will be released Friday July 25th and registration will open Monday July 28th.

REGISTERING FOR COMP CLASSES:

There is no need to go in and register for your competitive classes. We will do this for you over the next couple of weeks.

That is it for now! More information regarding season 9 will be sent out next week. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Cheers!
