Hello hello Team of 2025-2026!
It is hard to believe we are already halfway through Summer break. We hope you have all been keeping cool and are soaking up the sun.
We are very busy getting organized for our upcoming season and have some important information for you.
In this email you will find all of your recital dates, competition dates, holidays and the break down for class fees this year. Please be sure to take the time to read the entire email, we know it is long but it gives you a heads up on all things season 9.
Be sure to make note of all these dates immediately. Remember when something says mandatory it is not a suggestion, it means your dancer must be there.
If you have any questions please reach out. We are looking forward to getting back to dancing with you all. 🙂
REGISTRATION/CLASS FEES:
We are currently still entering all of the competitive team classes into the site. We will then enter your dancer(s) into their mandatory competitive classes and invoice you.
If your dancer is taking additional classes on top of their mandatory such as the Ballet Exam or acro class, you can register for those now.
BACK2DANCE BOOT CAMP: Saturday September 20th IN WASAGA
We wanted to clarify that this is not a mandatory workshop. We would love for all of the team to be there so they can start to get to know each other and meet everyone. It is always a great weekend to kick off the season!
We are currently working this schedule and looking at incorporating a little bonding event to the day.
FEES: Below is a layout of what class fees are for the year. As always, the tech class remains mandatory for all dancers. Each team will be doing three routines (jazz, lyrical/contemporary, Hip hop). If your dancer is doing their tech class and three routines, that counts as 4 classes.
All class fees will be billed through the registration site. Your mandatory class fees (team choreo and tech classes) are due at the first of every month. September must be paid before your dancer(s) can come to class. You are welcome to pay fees monthly or all at once.
Additional class fees such as the ballet exam or acro classes will also be billed through Uplifter. The fees for these classes will be billed up front and per session (Sept-Dec, Jan- March, April-June).
Competition fees and costume fees will be invoiced separately. This is where your deposits will be recorded and put towards.
We ask that if you are splitting fees between parents/guardians you let us know immediately so we know who should be receiving billing.
A reminder there is a one time competitive team registration fee that gets applied at the beginning of the year. This is a $30.00 fee per dancer.
Please be sure to reach out if you have any questions about payments and finances. There is funding that can be applied for if you are in need of assistance. We are happy to help with payment plans but you must be proactive in communicating with us.
There will be 9 months of classes. We have laid out what the monthly cost is below based on how many classes your family is taking.
If you have a recreational dancer do NOT calculate their fees with the competition monthly fees as they are charged by session.
You will be charged September to May which is a total of 9 months. Our season runs until June but the weeks in June are covered by your December payment.
Monthly 2 classes- $120.00
Monthly 3 classes- $180.00
Monthly 4 classes- $240.00
Monthly 5 classes- $300.00
Monthly 6 classes- $360.00
Monthly 7 classes- $420.00
Monthly 8 classes- $480.00
Monthly 9 classes- $540.00
Monthly 10 classes- $600.00
EXTRA PRACTICES:
Throughout the year we will have extra practices scheduled for each team. These will usually be on weekends but sometimes during the week as well. You will not be charged extra for any of these practices. These are covered throughout the year by your monthly fees and are scheduled to make-up for holidays such as March Break, Holiday Mondays, etc.
SOLO/SMALL GROUPS:
As usual we will be offering additional routines and plan to start this process earlier. We will be offering more than previous years as there will be no production number. We know most of our team members are interested in additional routines. We will be reaching out again to confirm who is, who is not and what they would be interested in if they were offered. This does not guarantee you will be offered something additional. It will help us map out who could be paired together and what they would be willing to commit too if we feel they are ready.
Once this survey is sent out, similar to last year we will reach out to dancers we feel are ready for an additional routine, have been holding up their commitment to their team and who we feel could bring our visions and concepts to the stage.
Some dancers may be offered these routines earlier than others. Do not be alarmed if some people start in the Fall and some don't start until a bit later in the season.
All class fees, competition deposits and costume deposits will need to be up to date and paid before a dancer will even be considered. This will be a firm rule. We appreciate your understanding that we can not add extra routines and fees if your current bills are not balanced.
*Please Note: If you want to be considered for an additional routine in a ballet or acro/open style, than you must be taking the associated tech class for the entire year (acro tech classes or ballet exam classes).
COMMUNICATION:
All major communication and information will be done through email.
Any information that is sent through email will also be posted on the Team Portal.
The Team Portal is on the Active Arts website and is a section entirely dedicated to the team. There you will find general information but also specific pages for each team. The schedule will be posted there, extra practice dates and any other information. Think of this as our team app. It is easy to access, simply open our website and click "Competitive Team Portal". The team portal will be updated in August to all things season 9.
Minor and quick communication can be done through text or Whatsapp. We will make new group chats for each team in September. This is for easy and quick information to be shared.
VACATIONS:
You are more than welcome to schedule vacations, family time is so important and we want everyone to make sure they are getting rest and relax.
